SEO : Podcasts

In the media age we are all publishing and consuming each other's media content. Podcasts are yet another great way to drive visitors to your website, for free. All it takes is a little creativity and a little effort.

Create an audio file of you speaking about something, or perhaps interviewing a customer or site user. Then save the audio file in the correct format and upload it to iTunes, for thousands of listeners/viewers to find for free.

As well as audio you can create video podcasts, but older iPods don't play video and most people now use YouTube for video content.

Content

As always, make your content INTERESTING to your target audience or you are wasting your time. Nobody wants to hear an advert. They want a different, more informative slant on things.

Think about who might download the content, who or where they are, what they will expect and how they will expect it to be delivered to them.

And above all, do your research - browse other people's podcasts before you start planning your own.

	Do... try to be concise - 2 minutes of great content is far better than 10 minutes of waffle with no substance perform this activity regularly, as you are building up a listener base who will hopefully come to expect more great content from you
	Don't... be afraid to try different things forget to introduce yourself at the start, and at the end say where to go for more information
