And the rapid growth of YouTube (bought out by Google, which tells you something) combined with the decision by Google to show YouTube video results mixed in with its main web search results, is evidence that the video revolution is already here and happening.

Producing a Video

You will need a webcam (which normally comes with editing software). Alternately use a camcorder and video editing software, but you're in for a much longer development time.

Golden Rules

Dress appropriately for your market - if you are targeting business then dress as if you were on their premises (as you effectively will be when they watch the clip)

Before you start write a script and rehearse it, while timing yourself.

Remember to:

1. Show just your head and shoulders
2. Talk as if you are talking to a live person
3. Introduce yourself, say who the video is for, and what it will help the viewer to
   do or know more about
4. Keep it short (under 10 minutes for YouTube). Even 5 minutes is a long time when
   you're presenting.
5. At the end thank the viewer for watching, and tell/show the viewer the URL of your
   website where they should go for further information
   

In terms of style, be original enough to stand out but not too wacky.

1. Download a free trial copy of professional video editing package, and import your clip.
   
   
2. Experiment with changing backgrounds, captions, subtle intro and exit sound tracks.
   
   
3. Create several versions and ask colleagues/friends/family which they like best, and go with it.

	Do... keep it short and focused on one subject get something produced and uploaded (you can improve it later)
	Don't... forget to introduce yourself and what you will be talking about forget to thank your audience for watching, and direct to them to further info at www.... etc
